I’m sure you’re all aware that we are currently running a School Transport Survey.
We would appreciate ALL school families taking the time to complete a short survey about the way your children travel to and from school. The survey is anonymous, as the results are analysed by the CDHB analysts team, not within the school. However, you can also add your name for the chance to win a special spot prize! The prize is a SCOOTER and helmet, which has kindly been donated by the good people at Bike Barn.
The survey will need to be completed THIS WEEK OR NEXT WEEK between 7th – 18th May. We really appreciate your participation! Ultimately, the results will contribute to keeping our children safe.

Our cover stars this week are our Year 4 students. Timaru Rotary annually provide all Year 4 students throughout Timaru each with a free dictionary. Last Friday was our turn to receive our new dictionaries. What an amazing initiative by Rotary!
During the weekend I was lucky to represent South Canterbury Primary schools at the Education Summit in Christchurch. 800 people from Invercargill to Levin and everywhere in between attended. There was a large mixture of people and backgrounds ranging from business owners, to city councillors, to volunteer organisations, to Yr 13 High School students, to Principals, to teachers, to BOT members, to MOE officials, to Ngai Tahu, to Ruud Kleinpaste the bug man. You name it, it seems that everyone was represented. This wasn’t just a Principal/teacher meeting. This was a whole community conversation. There was a lot of talking, sharing and listening in a quest to nail down the key components that will make up the NZ Education situation over the next 30 years. Quite an undertaking! Watch this space, there are changes afoot, and this Summit is just the beginning!
Congratulations to everyone who received Principal Awards at last week’s assembly.
This week we welcomed the following new student Ava Simmons R1.
