Newsletter 23 October 2019

Our cover stars this week are our Road Safety Patrollers practicing on our new Kea Crossing on Spring Road. As mentioned last week, the TDC recently installed the new crossing arms on the Spring Road rise. We are very keen to ensure that all children cross safely on Spring Road, whether it be coming to, or leaving school. With this in mind the best place, and only place to cross is at the crossing arms. Please support the safety of your children by ensuring they cross at this point.

These will be officially working very soon. Because the crossing means that we will now be stopping traffic, we now need to man the crossing with an adult. We will be able to arrange teachers in the afternoon, but in the morning we’d really appreciate some extra support. If you are able to help out on the crossing from 8:30-8:55am on any of the days during the week please contact me stevez@gleniti.school.nz or via the Facebook page if you are able to help out. The role isn’t an onerous one. The Road Safety children do all the hard work and are trained to make the decisions. But they do need support. Please contact us.
