This week the school is involved in the Nationwide BullyfreeNZ initiative. Classes have been talking about ways that we can all work on to achieve our goal of being a Bullyfree environment. This lends itself to conversations about behaviour as a whole, whether it be poor behaviour or positive behaviour. No doubt this will be an on-going conversation.
We shared on our Facebook page a great resource that helps children learn the power of kindness … Oat the Goat is a very useful digital storybook well worth taking a look at …. http://www.oatthegoat.co.nz/
On Friday we are encouraging children to come along dressed up in Pink … any pink will do, please don’t go to any extra expense! Nationwide it is officially called Pink Shirt Day, but we don’t mind if your children don’t have a pink shirt, any pink will do. This gold coin mufti day will see the donations going to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.
This Friday is the last day of our School Transport Survey. So far we have had 163 responses to the online survey and we’ve also been running an in-class survey as well.
If you haven’t already, we’d appreciate it if you could take the time to complete a short survey about the way your children travel to and from school. The survey is anonymous, as the results are analysed by the CDHB analysts team, not within the school. However, you can also add your name for the chance to win a special spot prize! The prize is a SCOOTER and helmet, which has kindly been donated by the good people at Bike Barn.
We really appreciate your participation! Ultimately, the results will contribute to keeping our children safe.

Our cover stars this week are Sam Ollerenshaw and Kyla Botha. Sam and Kyla received the umpire of the week award last Saturday at Netball. It’s great to see Gleniti students step up to take on umpiring roles. Fabulous work girls!
Congratulations to everyone who received Principal Awards at last week’s assembly.
