Newsletter 30th January, 2019

Welcome back everyone! I’m sure that you’ve all had a wonderful summer break and are all set for the busy term ahead. It was great to welcome all the smiley faces back yesterday. 2019 is certainly shaping up to be an exciting year.

A huge thank you (yet again!) to our proactive PTA who have funded and built our sand pit. Our cover stars this week are all our new students and they are photo’d enjoying the wonderful sand pit. Thanks PTA!

We’ve started the year with a school roll of 360. Our enrolment zone is now well and truly in place and everything is working as planned.

A huge welcome to all of our new children and their families. Welcome also to Nadine Jones (Rm8) and Dave Calder (our new Caretaker) and Daile Greer (our new Cleaner). Welcome back to Angela Fitzgerald in a full time capacity teaching in Rm 16.

Next week we look forward to our annual meet and greet Family Picnic. This will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30pm on the main field. It’s a bring along your own dinner sort of event, with lots of fun and games thrown in. The perfect way to meet the Gleniti School whanau!

With so many new families in the school I thought that it was timely to remind people about how to get access to the weekly Gleniti Newsletter.

· via School Bag: Delivered weekly into your child’s schoolbag every Wednesday!

So really there’s no excuse not to know what’s going on in your school! J

Finally, I just have a couple of things to remind people.

First of all a message about uniforms. It’s a great time of year to remind everyone of our uniform expectations.

Uniforms should be just that; uniform. So please when you are purchasing new black shorts please avoid

anything that might have a logo on it. The Warehouse have plenty of plain black shorts, and they’re a good

price.

Don’t forget your sunhats as well everyone. It’s very important that all children wear their sunhats at school.

Secondly just a reminder about dropping your children off at school. As the school roll has grown so has the number of cars driving up and down Heath Street and Springs Road looking for parks. Please be considerate to all parents and above all be super conscious of all children making their way to school. And just another reminder that the carpark is for staff, visitors working in the school and emergencies.

Don’t forget we have Waitangi Day holiday on Wednesday 6th February.
